Scope and Content of the Collection
This collection contains sleep and dreaming study participant surveys, recordings, dream recall notes, sleep and lifestyle assessments, and study protocols, methodological records, CD recordings of sleep data, and documents. It is arranged into two series. The first series documents a home-based, longitudinal dream recall study (N = 147 Participants). This data set includes narrative reports and participants' ratings of the subjective qualities of their reported dreams. Files are arranged by participant code number.
The second series documents a large-scale sleep/wake study (N = 174 Participants) which entailed the systematic sampling of dreaming and waking experiences. For each experience sample, the participant provided a narrative report and then used two psychometrically validated measures (the SERS and the MACE) to assess, respectively, the subjective qualities and metacognitive features of their reported experience. For a subset of participants (N = 28), experience samples were obtained in the sleep lab on campus and thus information about sleep psychophysiology and sleep stages was collected in addition to the narrative reports and phenomenological measures. Files are arranged by subject and participant code number.
