Series discription
This series represents the daily work, life, and history of the various houses of the Sisters of the Holy Family, primarily in the state of California (where they were founded in San Francisco in 1872) but also in Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, Texas, and Mexico. Materials in this series consist primarily of photographs, correspondence, and photocopied news articles, but also includes property records (deeds, sales agreements, blueprints, and plans), timelines, histories, guest books, monographs, and reports. Some notable materials include the sisters’ work in helping to create affordable family and senior housing, the establishment of the Golden Gleaners care center, and their collaboration with the On Lok Senior Service center.
