Scope and Content
This series consists of papers and materials chronicling Father Markey’s service as a U.S. Army Airforces chaplain during WWII, including Markey’s medical forms and records, chaplain correspondence and military orders. The series also contains materials collected by Markey’s mother, including letters he wrote while in school and while in the service, birthday cards, photographs of Markey at St. Paul’s college, and photographs of Markey administering Mass to soldiers while stationed in the Galapagos Islands.
