Scope and Content of the Collection
Fr. Hauck's administration was a time of quiet transition from post-War rebuilding to the dramatic changes of the 1960's. During Fr. Hauck's seven years as president Santa Clara was forced to withdraw from intercollegiate football, the University was accredited by the Western College Association, efforts were begun to reestablish graduate studies, the University became affiliated with Alma College, tuition was increased, and property was purchased that included the Eberhard Tanning Company. Files include materials on buildings, policies and procedures, correspondence, committees, task forces chaired by the President, reports, minutes, staff memos, meeting minutes, and program files.
