Facsimile of Koran center leaves dated 1207 A.D.

The writer spent 22 years of his life working on this book. Almost every color is used in addition to solid gold leaf. He finished the work at 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon, March 22, 1207. The red lettering is in Persian and the black words are in Arabic. This is considered to be one of the most beautiful copies of the KoranThis book before disassembly was appraised and insured for $25,000. It was found in Tehran, Iran by Stanley S. Slotkin in 1952.
